- Somerset Rural Life Museum at Glastonbury
The museum is housed in a victorian farmhouse and buildings which include a
magnificant 14th century barn. Life in Somerset in the 19th and early 20th century
is illustrated in displays of traditional farming practices and the local industries
of peat cutting, withy growing and cheese and cider making.
- Somerset County Museum, Taunton
The Somerset County Museum is housed in Taunton Castle. The museum has important
collections relating to Somerset's natural and human history. The archaeology
galleries contain exceptional material evidence from prehistoric and Roman times.
The museum also contains the Somerset Military Museum, which illustrates the
history of Somerset's military units including the famous Somerset Light Infantry.
